Professor Georgina Chambers [PhD(Health Economics), MBA (Director’s Award), BAppSci(MLS) (Dux), Grad Diploma(Computing), GAICD] is the Director of the National Perinatal Epidemiology and Statistics Unit (NPESU), UNSW Sydney.

Professor Georgina Chambers [PhD(Health Economics), MBA (Director’s Award), BAppSci(MLS) (Dux), Grad Diploma(Computing), GAICD] is the Director of the National Perinatal Epidemiology and Statistics Unit (NPESU), UNSW Sydney.
The NPESU a leading research unit with strengths in reproductive medicine, pregnancy and the neonatal period. Prof Chambers is the Data Custodian of the Australian and New Zealand Assisted Reproductive Technology Database (ANZARD), the Australian and New Zealand Neonatal Network (ANZNN), and the World IVF Registry on behalf of the International Committee for Monitoring Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ICMART), a non-state actor of the WHO.
The NPESU also developed and manages the Australian Government funded YourIVFSuccess website (www.yourivfsuccess.com.au) which was awarded the 2023 Research Australia Award for Data Innovation.
The NPESU is a joint unit of the Centre for Big Data Research in Health (www.http://www.unsw.edu.au/research/cbdrh) in strategic partnership with the Discipline of Women's Health Faculty of Medicine (http://www.unsw.edu.au/medicine-health/our-schools/clinical-medicine/about-us/disciplines/womens-health).
Prof Chambers has 25 years’ experience in the Australian public and private healthcare sectors in public health research, health economics, medical science and health services management. She has built a significant research career and international reputation in reproductive and perinatal medicine with over 200 publications and Principal Investigator of >$25 million in Category 1 and 2 research funding. Georgina has a special interest in infertility and treatment, and is ranked in the top five academics internationally in health economics and policy analysis of assisted reproductive technologies (ART).
Georgina has supervised many PhD candidates to completion and continues to lecture in perinatal health economics and health outcomes.
Professor Chambers is a regular invited speaker at international and regional conferences and frequently provides media commentary pertaining to her research and work undertaken by the NPESU.
